Alligator vs Deer

It seems recently that I have been taking interest in drawing alligators. Having spent my entire life in the Bay Area (for the most part) I really enjoy the flora in the environments that alligators live. Lots of swamps and spanish moss, bugs and creepy housing. It's just so refreshing compared to the static buildings I am surrounded by constantly in this gray city. On further review these are things that I like to look at a draw, but probably wouldn't want to live with.

And the finish. I am attempting to hone my drawing skills, and really am just craving some good old OCD ridden ink work. The surface of the water is something I should work on...

Don't ask me why but the other day I was combing through the sexual offenders that are registered in San Francisco and I found the above drawn man - the building manager for my studio space. !!!
